In collaboration with GREMIA, part of the Guatemalan Chamber of Commerce, and EMPAGUA, we are leading an ambitious project to quantify rainfall in Guatemala City. This effort seeks to address the problem of scarce water recharge areas, a challenge exacerbated by urban growth and excessive groundwater extraction.​ Thanks to our rainfall network, the largest in the country with more than 1,800 stations, we identify optimal areas for groundwater recharge, using advanced technology and hydrogeological knowledge to propose sustainable and effective solutions.
